RPG Fans Eager for Baldur’s Gate 3 Get a Huge Delay on Xbox

RPG fans have been waiting for the release of Baldur’s Gate 3, the next part in the Baldur series. With over 200 hours of content, Baldur’s Gate 3 looks to offer an adventure as huge and grand as classics like The Witcher 3, Skyrim, and its own previous games. However, this major Xbox games release seems to be facing issues with the Series S console.

Xbox Games Launch Timeline Revealed for Most Platforms

While Baldur’s Gate 3 arrives on PC early access on August 31, console fans have awaited release details too. The game will launch on PS5 on September 6th, opening its vast worlds to more gamers. However, Xbox owners are still in the dark about the Xbox release date.

Technical Hurdles Lead to Lengthy Xbox Delay

In a statement, developer Larian Games says that Baldur’s Gate 3 is facing major delays on Xbox Series X/S. The culprit? Technical difficulties getting local split-screen co-op to run properly on Xbox Series S.

With its modest CPU and RAM, bringing the expansive world of Baldur’s Gate 3 to the budget console seems tough.

In tweets, Larian said that “We cannot remove the split-screen feature because we are obliged to launch with feature parity, and so continue to try and make it work.”

The studio says a team of engineers is working hard to solve the issues, but a 2023 release is now impossible. Instead, Xbox players will need to wait until late 2024.

Disappointment for Xbox Fans, But Excitement Remains

The delay is disappointing for Xbox owners who want to enjoy the realms of Baldur’s Gate 3 with friends or family on the couch.

Losing a key option like split-screen co-op fades the experience, so Larian is wise to keep looking for a solution. While the long wait is frustrating, fans appreciate the commitment to delivering the definitive version.

The Anticipation for Baldur’s Gate 3 is Electric

When Baldur’s Gate 3 does arrive on Xbox, it remains one of the most hotly anticipated RPG releases in years. The rich story, deep combat, and seemingly endless adventuring possibilities will pair beautifully with Xbox Game Pass.

And when wandering the journey alone grows tiring, the split-screen co-op will make it easy to pull in others. Though the delay stings, Baldur’s Gate 3 should prove well worth the extended wait.

Xbox Games Epic Adventure Coming

With its enormous world, intricate systems, and promised hundreds of hours of adventure, Baldur’s Gate 3 represents an exciting new RPG vision.

Once the technical challenges go away, Xbox players can look forward to sharing couches and controllers as they get to see one of gaming’s most expansive fantasy realms.

An epic adventure awaits, but Xbox fans must summon a bit more patience. In the meanwhile, they can play other amazing Xbox games, and the new Resident Evil 4 is a great option.
