Xbox Games Cheap – Microsoft Will No Longer Offer $1 Game Pass Trial
Microsoft has ended its popular $1 one-month free trial offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The offer had been there for years, and it let so many gamers try out the service. However, the company has confirmed that it is exploring other ways to entice new subscribers. The goal is to offer Xbox games cheap, and it was a great way to do that till now.
Xbox Games Cheap – How to Trial Benefitted Users
The $1 trial let people sign up for Xbox Game Pass for a month before the full subscription kicked in. That is $14.99 per month or $9.99 per month for the PC or console-only option.
The trial was an excellent way to recommend the service to a friend or family member. However, we will now have to wait to see what these “different marketing promotions” will be for new members.
Xbox’s head of global communications, Kari Perez, told The Verge, “We have stopped our previous introductory offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and are evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future.”
It is likely that they will be related to Xbox’s Friends & Family plan for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
The Friends and Family Angle
Microsoft has been working on the Friends & Family plan for less than a year. The plan lets subscribers share Xbox Game Pass Ultimate benefits. You can have up to four other friends or family members use it for around $24 per month.
The plan is already available in markets such as Ireland and New Zealand. However, it has not yet out in the US, UK, and most of Europe. Removing the $1 deal may indicate that the new plan is ready for all other markets with Game Pass too.
2023 Showing Better Performance for Game Pass
2022 was a relatively quiet year for Xbox. However, 2023 is already shaping up to be a much better one for Game Pass subscribers.
On September 6, Starfield will launch on Game Pass, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be available on August 18. Valheim and Hi-Fi Rush have already launched.
Microsoft has been expanding the reach of Xbox Game Pass by taking over new studios. These include Bethesda, Obsidian Entertainment, and Playground Games.
The company plans to bring its first-party games to the service on day one of release. So, Starfield is a fine example of that promise.
Xbox Games Cheap – Alternatives Are Always Present
Getting Xbox games cheap via Game Pass seems to be a great way for most gamers. However, affording a subscription is not ideal for many gamers. So, they need to rely on sales to purchase games and own them. Thankfully, there are plenty of amazing deals they can find, even on the newest titles like Atomic Heart and others. So, this is where third-party sellers come in to offer a big win for gamers everywhere.
