Xbox One Games – Starfield Fans Worried About Game Quality After Bad Redfall Release

Starfield fans are worried about the game’s future after Redfall, a multiplayer shooter from Arkane Studios, failed to impress. These are the same people who are behind iconic games like Dishonored and Deathloop. Redfall seems to be below the studio’s high standards, and fans fear that Starfield might see the same fate. At this point, one might say it looks like one of the older Xbox One games.

Xbox One Games – Redfall’s Disappointing Release

Redfall came out this week and was met with a very below-average response. The game did not meet the high standards set by Arkane Studios’ previous titles.

The studio is famous for making games that get high Metacritic scores. However, Redfall failed to live up to that reputation.

Dishonored’s Success

Dishonored, the FPS game from 2012, was the one to put Arkane Studios on the map. The game gave players a high level of freedom in how they approached situations and interacted with NPCs.

They could use a lot of cool and unique powers. Dishonored became part of Xbox One and PS4 in 2015 and had all previous DLCs. Additionally, it also saw an equally amazing sequel in 2016.

Missteps Along the Way

Arkane Studios has not been without missteps, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a great example of that. However, it was not as bad as Redfall is at the moment. It is certainly the biggest bad spot in their reputation yet.

Redfall’s Flaws and Fan Concerns

Redfall’s bland open world, average cinematics, and bugs have had fans reacting in all sorts of ways. They do seem to believe that among these flaws hides an epic co-op multiplayer game.

Comicbook.com says that fans are now worried about Starfield too. Even though Bethesda Game Studios is it, they both still come under the Bethesda umbrella.

The Pressure on Starfield

Dreamcast Guy, a content creator, and IGN’s Destin Legarie and Ryan McCaffrey also shared concerns. So, the pressure will likely build up for Starfield. “Honestly… with the state Redfall is in, I’m very worried about Starfield,” tweeted Destin.

McCaffrey replied, “EVERYTHING is riding on that game at this point.” Dreamcast Guy also made serious comments on the situation.

Windows Central managing editor Jez Corden says that “The pressure on Starfield to deliver for Xbox is absolutely immense”. So, Bethesda Game Studios must deliver a game that lives up to the high standards of previous Arkane.

The Future of Starfield

The Xbox Games Showcase is happening on 11 June. So, immediately after that event, the Starfield Showcase will take place. At the time of writing, Starfield will release for PC and Xbox Series X/S on 6 September 2023.

Xbox One Games – Will Starfield Meet Expectations?

After all the hype around these games, a solid result is necessary for Starfield to be a success. So, the developers are going to need to put in a lot of days and nights if they want a solid win.

Otherwise, we could be looking at a crude game that would look like old Xbox One games. Of course, even those have better options now with titles like Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
