Rockstar’s Parent Company Confirms Red Dead Redemption 3
It’s official – Red Dead Redemption 3 has been confirmed to be in development by Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive. So, get ready to saddle back up for another epic adventure in the Wild West, even if it’s likely a long wait away. We can say with confidence that one of the best Xbox Series X games is on the way!
Xbox Series X Games – Acclaimed Franchise History
The Red Dead series started with 2004’s Red Dead Revolver, but it was 2010’s masterpiece Red Dead Redemption that cemented it as an all-time great franchise.
2018’s prequel Red Dead Redemption 2 then stunned fans and critics as one of the most immersive and detailed open worlds ever created.
Given the long eight-year gap between the last two games, plus Rockstar’s currently developing blockbuster Grand Theft Auto VI, Red Dead 3 is surely a long way off.
It would be surprising to see it released on this generation of consoles. But thanks to recent comments, we now know for certain the series will continue.
Official Word from Parent Company CEO
Speaking at an investor conference last year, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick compared Red Dead Redemption to James Bond. So, that means it’s a franchise that will keep going as long as it makes financial sense.
He stated: “If it’s really, really great, it will keep going. I think Red Dead is one of them.” While details are non-existent, John Marston or a new cast of characters will get another Wild West chapter someday.
Why the Wait Will Be Long
Zelnick also made it clear not to expect Red Dead 3 anytime soon. Rockstar will take its time to ensure the next entry feels like a special event after years away, just like the gap between Redemption 1 and 2.
Rockstar’s focus is still on Grand Theft Auto VI development. So, Red Dead probably won’t be released until the next generation of consoles at the absolute earliest. But whenever cowboys ride again, fans will be more than ready to return to the lawless frontier.
The Promise of Redemption 3
The long wait will test even the most patient outlaw’s resolve. However, the chance to re-enter Rockstar’s stunning open-world western setting is worth it. Where the story goes next remains a mystery. Will we play as an older Jack Marston? Or follow a completely new gang of antihero gunslingers?
Xbox Series X Games – Huge Potential
One thing is certain – Red Dead Redemption 3 has unlimited potential to deliver the same level of groundbreaking immersion and unforgettable tale of life on the wild frontier. Every spur-jangling step will feel like coming home again.
So, keep waiting faithfully by the campfire, outlaws. Redemption will arrive eventually if we have enough faith. Yee-haw! Also, you can try other great Xbox Series X games while you wait like Cyberpunk 2077.
