Cheapest Xbox One Games – Enjoy Lord of the Rings: Gollum

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum video game is coming out in May, and we can’t wait. So, game enthusiasts got the chance to play a demo at PAX East. The game focuses on the backstory of the classic Lord of the Rings villain, Gollum. It aims to give players a unique perspective and expand Gollum’s. So, the game will offer a combination of stealth, platforming, and obstacles along the way. While it certainly won’t be among the cheapest Xbox One games, it is still going to make waves.

Cheapest Xbox One Games – Here’s What It’s Like

Firstly, the game is mainly a platformer, and it takes inspiration from the likes of Assassin’s Creed and Tomb Raider. Gollum can climb, jump, wall-run, and sneak, but he cannot attack enemies directly.

This forces players to think of unique ways to take down enemies. The silly tone of the game might turn off some hardcore fans of Tolkien. However, it does make the experience more enjoyable for many players.

There are Shortcomings in the Title

Secondly, there were some issues with the demo as well. The frame rate has some issues, the animations look unclear, and the gameplay gets jerky.

Additionally, the game’s balance between humor and gameplay is not always perfect. The platforming and punishing stealth sections sometimes feel at odds with its story.

The gameplay is not always consistent, and the awareness bar that appears above an enemy’s head can be unpredictable.

The control of Gollum is also not as responsive as players would like to see at this point. Finally, players must start over every time enemies spot them, even from a distance, and this is frustrating.

A Different Gollum?

Thirdly, Gollum’s character model is also different from what fans might expect. The game’s Gollum has a baby face and large green eyes. Players also need to adjust to the difference between the game and Peter Jackson’s characters in the movies.

However, the game does offer a clear nod to Ralph Bakshi’s 1978 animated adaptation. So, Gollum’s bright green eyes are the only thing visible from behind foliage when he is hiding.

Finally, the game tells the story of Gollum’s escape from Sauron’s clutches to Gandalf in an elven prison. The entire story is from Gollum’s perspective.

So, it remains to be seen how strong the narrative will be in the final version of the game. Players have little time to get a feel for the characterizations of the game’s major characters.

However, a few of the classic Tolkien characters appear in the cutscene at the beginning of the demo. The Elven king Thranduil and Gandalf both make an appearance. However, there are some minor changes to their appearances, and this may upset longtime fans.

So far, we can only wait to see what the final product ends up looking like. In the meanwhile, you can enjoy the cheapest Xbox One games like Hello Neighbor 2 and pass your time.
