Redfall, an open-world FPS game from Arkane Studios, is going to come out on May 2, 2023. It will be coming to the Xbox and PC as well. However, the game’s launch will only include a Quality mode and that emphasizes resolution rather than the frame rate. The lack of options to focus on performance is bothering a lot of people and some say it is the cheapest Xbox One games move.

Cheapest Xbox One Games – Readily Available Specs

Xbox Series X will support 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. However, the Series S will have a lower 1440p resolution with the same 30 frames per second.

This announcement disappointed many console players, and that is because higher frame rates are often necessary for games like Redfall.

Arkane Studios recently confirmed on Twitter that a Performance mode, which will provide 60 frames per second. However, this mode will come later via a game update. The studio did not specify when the update will be available.

Redfall Already Facing Heat for Other Issues

Redfall is an open world FPS game that lets players play solo or with a team in co-op. Players will battle vampires who have cut the island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, off from the outside world.

The game requires players to stay online constantly, and that also applies to solo players. So, it has led to a big controversy among many players.

However, Arkane Studios says that they are “looking into” removing the requirement for solo players to be always online.

Microsoft Shares Details of Redfall Editions

Microsoft has announced a Redfall release date of May 2, 2023, along with special edition details and pre-order bonuses. The Redfall Bite Back Edition will include the Hero Pass, and which will provide access to two future heroes.

The Throwback Outfit Pack will have a unique outfit and backpack for each of the four base heroes. The gear takes inspiration from their lives before the events of the game. It will also come with a Laser Beam multi-weapon skin and the Tactical Knife Stake weapon attachment.

Players who pre-order Redfall or play the game with Xbox Game Pass will receive the Vampire Hunter Pack as well. This includes the exclusive Grim Tide Shotgun, a Polar Vortex multi-weapon skin, and a Blood Ravager Stake weapon attachment.

Last month, a Redfall preview came out and it praised the game as an “utterly engrossing single-player experience.” It said that the game “is shaping up to be the studio’s strongest shooter to date.” The game clearly has an obvious drawback with its current limitation on frame rates. However, players are still eagerly waiting for the game’s release and looking forward to the Performance mode update too.
